LIVE
BY A CREED
“Go
put your creed in your deed”
-Ralph
Waldo Emerson
If
you are truly going to unleash the genius within you, you must have a
creed and follow it up; you must constantly live by it. The Boy Scout
have a famous creed, which is continuously alarmed in it members ears
“be prepared”. Why is that? You may ask….well they are being
conditioned to be prepared for a purpose, and I think the most
important part of living up to a creed, is being disciplined, in fact
“discipline” should top the list of your creed.
After
he graduated from grade school at age twelve, John Wooden, the
legendary basketball coach was given a seven point creed by his
father; which he lived by, he later affirmed that this creed helped
shaped his life and most importantly his career.
“Making
the Most of Oneself”
-Be
true to yourself
-Make
each day your master piece
-Help
others
-Drink
deeply from good books
-Make
friendship a fine art
-Build
a shelter against a raining day
-Pray
for guidance and give thanks for your blessings everyday
The
optimists’ club creed is one I really enjoy so much, which has
really influenced my life to some extent, because I always try to
improve it every day…..
Promise
Yourself…..
-To
be Strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind
-To
talk health, happiness, prosperity to every person you meet.
-To
make all your friends feel that there is something of value in them.
-To
look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come
true.
-To
think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect the
best.
-To
be just as enthusiastic about success of others as you are about your
own
-To
forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater
achievements of the future.
-To
wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living
creature you meet a smile.
-To
give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no
time to criticize others.
-To
be too large to worry, too noble for anger, too strong or fear, and
too happy to permit presence of trouble.
You
must remember that the purpose of this creed is ultimately essential
in who you will turn out to be, and take note that it is who you
become in the process that matter the most.

ELIMINATE YOUR FEARS, AND
ADOPT THE
POSSIBILITIES
“Let me assert my firm
belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”
-Franklin Roosevelt
The worst way to look at the future is looking towards it
through the window pane of fear. The fear of failing is the greatest enemy of
success. Most often time we prefer to stick to the status quo than daring to do
something new. This is often the reason why the people at the top of the ladder
of success are often few, it’s the bottom of the ladder that’s often crowded.
I’d rather
be a fool and then succeed than succeed successfully at being a fool forever by
not trying, the words of Beverly sills keeps
echoing to my ears that ‘you may be
disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try’
The other day I was chatting with this girl,
who demanded that I coach her on starting her business, or I say MINDING HER BUSINESS, well we got to a turning
point when she told me she was shy of starting her business, her reason being
that she gave in into people’s skepticism of her idea, but I did straighten up
her thinking immediately, by referring her to Mary Kay Ash and other success
stories, but the point is people are often scared, this fear of failure, the
nagging insecurity that we won’t succeed, and I think the greatest thing that
fear does is to demolish your creativity, leaving you often impotent to
perform.
Skeptics are bound to exist when
something new will exist, critics will arise, and I’ve always defined a critic
as someone who doesn’t know the triumph of achievement nor has ever tried to do
something new, nor will he ever know what victory or defeat is….but criticize
the trial of a determined man or a doer of something.
“Who told you it couldn’t be done? And what great achievement has he to
his credit that entitles him to use the word ‘impossible’ so freely? ”
-Unknown
If you are
going to succeed in life, you’ve got to adopt the possibility mentality. Napoleon Bonaparte is credited to have said
“the word impossible is not in my dictionary”. That’s a lot of courage to
succeed.
And the
irony about the word impossible according to Mark 9:23 is that they end up being possible to him that believes: Jesus said unto him, "If thou canst
believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
We live in a
world were speculation doesn’t cease, neither does information, but also people
tend to live on the information that is given or transmitted to them, that’s
why it is of great failure when our so called experts in their fields send out
the wrong information.
Let’s check
out some famous discouraging words
-“I think there is only a world
market for about five computers”
-Thomas Watson, chairman IBM, 1943
What was he thinking?
As it stands there more than five
computers in the world
-“There is no reason for any
individual to have computer in their home”
-Ken Olsen, President
of Digital Equipment Corporation, 1977
What was he thinking?
As it stands there are thousands
reasons to have a computer in our homes
-“It is an idle dream to imagine that
automobile will take the place of railways in long-distance movement of
passengers”
-America
Road Congress, 1913
What were they
thinking?
As it stands it isn’t just a dream
but a reality.
-“the phonograph is of no commercial
value”
-Thomas Edison, remarks
on his own invention in 1880
What was he thinking?
I think we could ask our entertainment
industry.
-“this telephone has too many
shortcomings to be considered as a means of communication”
-WESTERN UNION, 1876
What were they
thinking?
The world would have needed one
today.
-“heavier than air flying machines
are impossible”
-Lord
Kelvin, President, Royal society, 1895
What was he thinking?
He must have lost his mind, with such
words.
-“everything that can be invented has
been invented”
-Commissioner, U.S.
office of patent, 1899
What was he thinking?
He was obviously wrong, since 1899
till now, about thousand of inventions and discoveries have been made, and many
are yet to be discovered.
It’s true that people would still
speculate their ignorance, don’t give in to them. Take your stand and eliminate
your fears. You will succeed if you don’t listen to the expert ignoramus.

Dreams are the stuffs which success is made up of,.....and like John Maxwell said 'dreams dont work unless you do'.....everybody has got something called 'dream', which if pursued, would definitely be achieved, regardless of the detours that would be encountered on the way- the attitude that is needed to be a success. Set out today to start what you want to do.
Things to ponder on
-you dont need to be great to start, but you need to start to be great.
-success begins by beginning.
-action is a leverage used by every successful person.
-until you do, you can never be.

...to everyone out there who feels they are a failure.....remember, winners are made up of failures who didn't quit, so don't give up until your life is up, don't give in until you have given in your best.....don't quit because you fail until failure quits, wrestle with it and you will surely come out triumphant if you don't quit, you've come to far to quit now. Get yourself charged up and take charge again. Go in now and win, failure is not an option for you, it's not over until you win. you are not a failure because you fail, you simply are a success in the making, you have just not succeeded yet.
wake up to this reality and go out this day to succeed. Its time to be a winner........................

If there's ever a time that our minds need growing, it's now. You cant continue to live on the knowledge of the past. Someone once said 'if you are not updated you would be outdated'............what you know today will be outdated tomorrow, next month....the only information that will survive is the information you know today and can use today.. that's why if you feel you have a cause to start something, start it today, start it now, tomorrow might be to late. In this 21st century, informations get updated every minute..............

' whoever you are, I don't care your background.....one thing I'm certain about is that you are a problem solver. If you see yourself in this light, you'd know you are important to someone else...and how well you are important is dependent on how well you solve problem(s) for others..........so go out there and solve problems starting from today'
